Carbolic Acid Peel |
|
A Carbolic Acid (phenol) Peel is a deep peeling agent which penetrates deeper into the skin and results in significant skin exfoliation. Effective for the treatment of acne scarring, skin discoloration, wrinkling, and sun damage. This peel is a deep peeling agent and is not suitable for mild skin damaged people. This peel is usually reserved for the face and not typically applied to the neck, trunk or arms. Following the procedure facial swelling can be expected. This peel can also result in facial discomfort and very red skin which may persist for several weeks. New skin begins to form approximately 10 days following the application. This procedure has an extended recovery time of about 14 days. The cosmetic results of this process can be significant. This deep peel has the ability to correct significant skin damage. However, because of the extended recovery time and more significant complications associated with this peel, serious consideration must be given before committing to this type of peel.
